Service and Social Justice

“Christ has no body now on earth but yours, no hands but yours, no feet but yours.
Yours are the eyes through which Christ’s compassion is to look out to the world.
Yours are the feet with which Christ is to go about doing good.
Yours are the hands with which Christ is to bless all people now.”
– St. Theresa of Avila

Engagement in acts of service, charity, and justice are integral to living the Catholic faith. To discover how you can put your faith into action at OWU through service visit both the Community Service Learning Office and the Spring Break Mission Week Office. On the Spring Break Mission Week site, you may be particularly interested in discovering the Spring Break Mission teams with particularly Catholic Connections: Benedictine Team, Catholic Worker Movement, and Rome Team.

“Central to our identity as Catholics is that we are called to be leaven for transforming the world, agents for bringing about a kingdom of love and justice.”
